Summary
a last minute animation for my friend Alex using a very cursed song i mashed up from my last album, BANGERS & MASH. the video was not planned but the song uses a lot of memes, so i had an idea of what i visually wanted before starting. the whole thing was made in 1 day
Process
most of the video was made in Adobe Animate, and composited in After Effects. the video is not very technically difficult, utilizing mostly loops and a puppet i made on the same day. the outline of the video is basically just to introduce visuals that match with the music, which each element has iconic imagery to already, so not much planning was nessisary. it was made very freeform with literally no planning.
the character designs come from a comic i made for Alex (and his partner Marie) the year prior. below is a page from the comic in 2019:
